 Physical fatigue occurs when muscles are constricted. When a person stands on a hard surface, leg muscles are constricted and static.
A resilient work surface such as an anti fatigue mat however, causes the person to subtly shift his weight, resulting in a healthy contraction/relaxation process in the leg muscles.
